With the advent of the Internet, the amount of information one can easily find on the subject is voluminous. Unfortunately, most of it is flawed in important aspects, being unsubstantiated, anecdotal, or merely quoting other unsubstantiated and anecdotal articles. Official sources, such as many informational publications put out by the US government, are not immune to this criticism.
The first thing you need to remember when a bat gets in your house is to stay calm. Flipping out and being scared isn’t going to help the situation. Staying calm will also help other people in your house be more relaxed and level-headed as well.

Caregivers can be hired through an agency or privately. Some advantages to an agency are that caregivers are pre-trained and screened, their benefits are paid for, and there is back-up in case they don’t show up. They have a supervisor who should be monitoring the care they provide. One disadvantage is the caregiver receives only a portion of the money that you pay. A second is loyalty may be more to the agency than to you.
We’ve all heard about the nasty little creatures called BED Bugs. In our minds they have infested everything from the stores we shop in, the movie theater, schools, our favorite restaurant, down to your child’s best friend’s house. Contrary to popular opinion, (or at least from the doctor’s insurance company) this is not an accurate statement. Most people living in a civilized society recognize the right to sue. The fact that a doctor has been or is sued is not that significant. If you ask a doctor if they’ve been sued, they will often be quick to explain how the case had no merit. Importantly, the physician will still continue to practice medicine and there will usually be no disciplinary action taken as a result of a civil medical malpractice lawsuit. The belief that a doctor’s reputation will suffer a blemish if sued, is simply not correct.

Why are we importing apple juice from China? Therein lies the rub. In some ways, we err through our own traditional beliefs. It’s inconceivable to me that we need to import apple juice when we have so many apple orchards here.
